Its hallmarks are privacy and indulgent comfort, from the beautifully appointed bedroom and luxurious bathroom to the lush garden, extravagant swimming pool and open-air jet pool.

Cuisine
Traditional Bahraini cuisine consists mainly of dates, fish and rice. Eating is a venerated ritual and dramatic outdoor feasts of whole roasted sheep and stewed meats have all but disappeared. The kingdom's large multi-cultural work force has, however, brought international dining to the forefront. Speciality restaurants and chic eateries are plentiful and infused with authentic cultural vigour. Banyan Tree Al Areen captures the best of this diverse, mouth-watering palette!

F1 Racing Circuit -
Bahrain has the distinction of being the first country in the Middle East to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix championships. Its roots in the sport actually date back to its own motor racing club, which was established in 1952. The staging of the first Formula 1 race in April 2004 justifiably attracted worldwide interest, covered by around 500 local and international media personnel.
The US$150 million project is centred on the Bahrain International Circuit, and four other tracks, which can be used for local and international sporting events. There are separate tracks used for amateur motor racing, as well as for the testing of new cars. The Grand Prix circuit, featuring a 1,200m long drag strip, is bordered by five grandstands, an eight-storey VIP tower, a medical centre and a media hub.

Recreation
A complete body wellness centre offering up-to-date sporting facilities set against a back drop of the Arabian Desert, where you can do as little or as much as you like.

Souk-ful of Treasures
A throwback to the boisterous trading days of the past, Bahrain’s fabled ‘souks’ (Arabic for markets) are a wellspring of intoxicating colours, sights and smells. Nothing rivals a visit to Bahrain’s famous Gold Souk or Gold City, the glittering highlight of any visit to Bahrain. Discover the quiet nooks and crannies where over 50 individual shops ply their trade; and be amazed by the sheer enormity and variety of gold on display. Bahraini gold is usually 21 carats and comes in a multitude of Italian, Indian and traditional Bedouin designs. Still unfazed by the clamour of merchants making a bid for your attention? Make a quick detour to other, smaller souks catering to spices, herbs and nuts. Half the thrill of shopping in such a stimulating ambience is perfecting the art of bargaining for your wares!
Abandon the Prada and Dior crowd for a retail odyssey to the Al Jasra Handicraft Centre. Situated in the village of the same name, the Centre is a treasure trove for handicrafts like cloth weaving, basketry and pottery. The shopping mecca of Bab Al Bahrain is located near the Gold Souk, and plays host to a wide range of eclectic shops in the setting of a traditional Arabian souk. Scour in the back alleys for a mix of electronic goods, musical instruments and made to measure garments. Take a quick getaway to Bahrain's mega malls that marry the sublime with the sensational, or visit the 16-screen cinema complex at Seef Mall, have a heat-defying ice-cream sundae at Bahrain Mall or listen to all the gossip at a cafe in Al A'Ali Mall.
